Two Sisters and John, John 2
“A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!” -John 2:10
Back at it again, talking about Jesus with the sisters, Lacey and Lindsay. Reflecting not only on the stories in John 2, but how these stories reveal Jesus’ miraculous power and His deep commitment to us. Come get you some Bible time!
In John 2, we witness the beginning of Jesus' public ministry with two powerful events that reveal His divine authority. First, at a wedding in Cana, Jesus performs His first miracle—turning water into wine—showing His ability to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary and offering a glimpse of the abundant life He brings. Then, in a bold act of cleansing, Jesus drives out the money changers from the temple, declaring that God's house should be a place of worship, not commerce. When questioned, He speaks of His body as the true temple, foreshadowing His death and resurrection. As His disciples witness these signs, they begin to believe in Him, while others remain skeptical. John 2 captures the power of Jesus’ miracles, His challenge to religious traditions, and the deeper truths about His identity, setting the stage for the revolutionary message He came to deliver.
